Pool lounge chairs, particularly floating pool chairs are a great way to lazily float around in your pool. It is my preferred way to enjoy the water, because I am lazy when it comes to my down time. There are some elaborate models available today that can offer a lot more than just your basic floating models.

Your basic floating pool chairs models do that.. just float. The most basic types these are usually nylon fabric covered seats in a U configuration. They are the least expensive and can usually be bought for under $25. The offer limited backrest support and some have cup-holders to hold your favorite beverage.

I would say the next models up would be the nylon or fabric covered floating pools. These are inflatable and can come in nylon or fabric covered, and are usually bigger than the U configuration seats. They offer more back and bum support and come with cup-holders… of course…. Most of these models can be purchased for under $75.

Next up on the floating pool chairs o-meter are the padded floating loungers. These are more sturdy built, and usually resemble a regular out-of-water type chair. Many have a frame that is covered in fabric and is supported with float able arm rests. These are as comfortable as their out-of-water cousins and have a bigger price spread and can usually cost anywhere between $75 – $250.

An upgraded version that I need to mention is the chaise lounge variety of floating pool chairs. These are one-piece molded chairs made of buoyant ensolite foam. They look all streamline and are completely unsinkable. These types are extremely comfortable also, and the 1-piece design makes them look really slick and streamline.

Now the top of the line floating pool chairs incorporate cool features like built-in iPod docks, speakers and massage function modes. These can range wildly in price and some of the features can be kind of ridiculous in my opinion. I would not really bring my iPod in the pool with me you know.

For me, just floating in the water, any way I can is great. I enjoy just using noodles. I hope all of you as I have said before are enjoying you swimming pool this year. I am even through all the rain we have had in the Northeast here.
