Have you ever wanted the perfect pool but didn’t want to purchase it with cash or take out a home equity line of credit? If so, then you should consider swimming pool financing. Such financing has several advantages over traditional financing, and should be your first option when looking to finance the addition of a pool to your home for several reasons.

The main reason you should try to find financing specifically for your pool is because the loan will be possibly be much cheaper then a traditional home equity line of credit, and you will have more options with your interest rates. Most swimming pool loans can be either fixed or adjustable rate loans which is different than most HELOCs.

One of the reasons pool loans are more flexible is because lenders who specialize in pool loans will actually consider the addition of a nice pool (along with it amenities like swimming pool slides) as what it really is – something that adds value to your home.

In addition, you may have the possibility of refinancing your home completely, and adding in the future value of the pool to the value of the loan, thus including your pool financing into your home mortgage.

So, if you want to buy a very nice pool with great pool slides, a diving board, and other amenities, then you should look into using swimming pool financing. Make sure the lender specializes in such financing, as there are several companies that do specialize in pool financing, since they will be better equipped to get you’re the best loan possible. Obviously, don’t finance more than you can handle, but you can discuss that with the lender.

Question by Keith: Above Ground Pool Cover for Intex Pool?
Help! I am trying to find a pool cover or solar cover for a 12′ x 24′ x 52″ above ground intex ultra frame swimming pool.

I want a cover that is on a reel because my pool sits mostly under a tree and I get constant bird mess and debris in the pool so I’d like something easy to put on and take off. Because of the design of the pool most of the above ground pool reels won’t mount on my pool sides and I dont think the frame could take the weight. I need something that sits on the ground but hold the reel up above the pool if that is possible.

Here is a link to my pool:

Best answer:

Answer by cyanne2ak
once a month in most areas. Part of this depends on WHERE YOU LIVE (climate affects this!). If you are unsure, just call a hardware store and ask.

Answer by Chris G
Get a pool check kit. The amount varies. Go to a pool store or even WalMart or the local chain store. Check by pool supplies

Answer by Lisa S
Once a week is usually enough; however, you need to reshock more often if

1. Your area has extremely high temperatures
2. There have been a lot of people in your pool
3. There has been a heavy rainstorm.

Answer by City slicker
you should invest in the chlorine strip test kit, it tells you by color matching what is needed. then you will need to do some quick calculations to get the right dosage. don’t shock it before your having house guests though, it could make it very ugly for the eyes of your guests and you.

Answer by joseph k
follow directions on the box . do you have a test kit or test strips for the water. follow the instructions water will go green pretty quick if you dont

Best answer:

Answer by Cory
You need to add a ‘sanitizer stabilizer’. The active ingredient is cyanuric acid. I’m not a chemist but the best I can describe it is like sunscreen for your chlorine. Chlorine will quickly evaporate in the sun and this will stop it. You can pick this up an most places that sell pool supplies. The good part is you only need to add it when you fill the pool and maybe a small amount as water is lost and replaced from splash out.

Your chlorine demand should drop dramatically.

It takes a couple days for this stuff to disintegrate

I hope that helps.

Swimming pools are the reservoirs of water that are used for the bathing, swimming and recreational purposes. They are of different types, shapes and sizes and are present at both the public and private sectors. They are constructed in different ways with different material. The idea of developing a swimming pool is not new rather the first swimming pool was built in Mohenjo Daro. The initiative was well liked by the Greeks who continued their form of construction. Further improvement was made the Europeans and the development has continued to date.
The swimming pools may be In ground pools or above ground pool. The above ground pools are handy and can be fixed at any location without much expertise and can be disassembled easily when needed. The In ground pools need proper place and construction but are durable and beautiful. Small play pools can be developed in houses that are shallow and are used by children.

Many other constructions of the pools are available that include spools, and lap pools. Different varieties suit different people.
The various materials that is used in constructing a swimming pool are gunite, concrete and fiber optic. The above ground pools may even be made of the plastic or other unusual material. Private pools are of smaller size and lined by tiles to make them easy to clean. Above ground pools are usually preferred at home because of your handiness. Pools built from the inexpensive material like the poly vinyl chloride pipes are also available in the market.
Many people add accessories to their pools to give them more comfort and relaxation. These include pool furniture, bars and toys. These accessories are blown with the air to hold the weight and yet stay light so that they don’t settle to the bottom. People set volley ball and basketball nets in their pools to play games and enjoy their summers. Many games are played in the water which include diving, hockey, volleyball and basketball. People all over the world enjoy and play these games.
Although the swimming pools are considered as recreational places, hot water swim baths have been used by many therapists all over the world. Hot water pools are important for relaxation and are used by massage centers and various other therapists. Hot water baths are considered as the good remedy for the pain and used as an effective way of pain relief by doctors in many parts of the world. Even the laboring women are advised to take under water bath to relieve their pain and anxiety. In the recent years the trend of giving birth to children under water has risen. Hot water baths are also recommended for people who have undergone a bowel operation. They increase the blood flow to the injured region causing good healing.
Keeping a swimming pool clean is the most important part of owning it. You need to check the quality of water and the its biological oxygen demand regularly. Also it is important to add disinfectants like chlorine and other chemicals to ward off bacteria and other living forms.

On a hot, sunny day there is nothing like stepping out the back door and lounging around the swimming pool with a cold drink. Florida has over a million swimming pools, most of them belonging to private residences. But with the benefits and pleasures of a swimming pool come the dangers and risks which are inevitably attached.

Infant and Toddler Deaths

Every year hundreds of children under the age of 5 drown in swimming pools due to the lack of supervision and safety measures which could have saved them. Most of these deaths happen in private pools while parents are nearby. Most of the parents who lose their children to swimming pool accidents are not neglectful or abusive parents, but were simply distracted by something as simple as a phone call or a doorbell.

Pool Injuries

Not every swimming pool accident results in death. Many of them can lead to injuries, such as head injuries from slipping and falling, or from diving into too-shallow water. Often, swimming pool safety comes down to simply being careful and following pool protocols. Even for individuals who are following swimming pool rules, however, the danger of an improperly cared for pool or obstructions in pathways can lead to injuries. If you or a loved one has been injured at a public swimming pool, you may need to be able to give evidence that you were not acting irresponsibly or against posted rules at the time of your injury.

Pool Rules

If you are swimming at a public pool, you should carefully read the posted swimming pool rules and be careful to follow them all. If no diving signs are posted near shallow water, diving into the pool may not only have you banned from the pool, but could cause injury or death. Although many people treat pool rules as suggestions, they are admissible evidence in court cases. If you are swimming in a private pool, you should follow commonly posted pool rules, even though you are at a private residence. These include:

No running
Don’t swim alone
Keep pool ladders and stairs, diving boards and walkways clear of obstructions
Never leave children unsupervised
Have your younger children wear floatation devices
Enroll your children in kids’ or toddler swimming classes

Answer by Speedy
I’ve got a friend that has one and he says they are alot less problem to take care of and cost alot less to buy the products for even though the unit is more expensive. He hasn’t had any problems! He really likes the water quality and chlorine doesn’t burn your eyes.

Answer by scubabob
I’m not familliar with the Bio Guard unit, but they all work essentially the same way. Having 3 cells toast on you is unusual. As long as it wasn’t due to clogging material in the cell itself by material getting past the filter, say by running on recirculate ( if a sand filter) or a hole in a cartridge filter and not absolutely horrendous water chemistry, the only thing that would be causing that is a faulty circuit board on the controller. I’ve come across Chlormatics ( similar) that were an issue that way and produced the same result in that short a time frame. Ask your dealer to swap out the controller and cell together. If it’s still an issue, I’d say that Bio Guard has some quality controll problems they need to adderess. In that case I’d be bugging your dealer for a refund or ask if he deals in Aqua Rite. If he does, grab it. I’ve never once had any sort of issue with them in the 5 years I worked for a company that sold them. If you’re interested, here’s a link http://www.goldlinecontrols.com/AquaRite.aspx
Ther’s an Australian made unit, can’t remember the name, that was starting to appear in North America, just as I was leaving the business, avoid it like the plague. We tested one out and found it more trouble from a home owner and service guy’s point of view than 10 bulls in a china shop.
No matter what you do, I’d still stick with salt. They are great.
