Its Friday and I am really glad. I had a really stressful week at the office. This weekend I definitely want to try to take it easy and relax by the pool. Its been hard to relax lately as our regular pool season is winding down and we are getting ready for pool cover season. We have all been putting in long hours at the company. Well lets get down to the business of this post, and that is looking at the different types and styles of billiard table lights that are available.

I would say that the most traditional billiard table lights that I have seen are the Tiffany style type. They almost look like stained glass, with the word “Billiards” on them sometimes. You see these in pool halls quite a bit, and are still the traditional lights that you do still see a lot of.

Another style of billiard table lights I am starting to see is the pendant type. These sometimes come in a configuration of three and can vary in style quite a bit. They can come in different styles including some beautiful blown glass types. We sell a style of this type of light that also has a ceiling fan kit attached to it. The fan mounts up on the ceiling, and the light hangs right below it. I really love this style.

And of course all of these billiard table lights come in a huge variety of metal finishes. From antique brass and bronze, to bright or patina ed copper. Stainless steel gives the lights a modern, crisp look. Many styles also include flat or glossy black finishes to even a wood constructed light, that is actually made for the professional pool hall or environment. This one isn’t as nice looking as the hanging pendant types, but offers more and better distribution of light. I guess in the professional circuit, looks wouldn’t be as important as practicality.

What ever style and type of billiard table lights you may like, always make sure you follow manufactures instructions on how to hang it, and what size and styles of light bulbs they recommend to use. Do enjoy your pool tables, as we do ours at home.

When considering a billiard table there are 3 things to consider. They are how much space to you have set aside for your pool table to be. Is it going to be used for pleasure or for training and competition, and equally important what is your budget.

When purchasing a billiard table for pleasure and/or home use, there are many good models to choose from. Now if you are considering one for professional use and training, then you should purchase a table that is enforced by the Billiard Congress of America (BCA). For your average home pleasure pool table, expend to spend anywhere between $500-$5,000. For a professional table endorsed by the BCA expend to spend more, between $5,000-$15,000.

Billiard table sizes range from 7′, 8′ and 9′ models and depending on how much room you have should dictate what size you can use. Make sure when sizing a pool table to allow enough room around to properly play. Many times this is not observed, and causes headaches when playing a game or practicing.

Also people when choosing a table with match the color to the room decor. There are many colors and styles to choose from when looking for a billiard table. Light, dark and colored woods are available including traditional styles, antique along with modern styles.
