There are two different kinds of swimming pools-the first is the type which is built beneath the ground and those that are installed above ground. But between these two, you will still need some of the different pool supplies which will ensure the safety of the people in your home. Among the supplies you will need are above ground swimming pool liners.

These liners are mainly for the above ground pools. But there are still some liners which the ground pools can have. Either way, it still serves one purpose to the owner of the swimming pool. This is to shield the surface of the pool from any damages as well as to prevent the growth of natural organic substances like algae.

The two most common designs for above ground swimming pool liners include the beaded liner and the overlap liner type. While the beaded liner design snaps to a trail on the pool’s rim, the overlap liner only hangs over the edges of the pool.

In addition, if you choose the beaded above ground swimming pool liners, it will fit into a track which is known as the bead receiver. This bead receiver runs along the lip of the swimming pool and is hidden from view by its coping. Even if you look for the coping under the edges of the pool, you can see the trail but you will need to really look for it.

The beaded above ground swimming pool liners, however, will cost more than just the overlap liner. But this will still work to your advantage as they appear a lot cleaner. This is because if you get the overlap above ground swimming pool liners, they will simply drape over the sides of your pool. They are then secured in place using a plastic coping which fits just underneath the rail of the pool. If you have a long liner, it can be trimmed. Although you won’t be able to make out where you have cut it, this can also take away the aesthetics of your pool.

On the plus side though, these two above ground swimming pool liners will be able to last you around fifteen years before they will need to be replaced. However, these liners will eventually deteriorate due to usage. You can take this as an advantage if you are not pleased with the above ground swimming pool liners you have chosen.

The prices of these above ground swimming pool liners will depend on the thickness of the material you get. And with regards to quality, you would really want to get a thick liner. Aside from that, the liner is labeled by its gauge. If you have a higher gauge, you also have a better liner. For this, you will need to look for liners which are either mid gauge or even better so you can be guaranteed of a longer lasting above ground swimming pool liners.

The only decision you have left to make is whether or not you’ll have the liner installed by a professional. Installing above ground swimming pool liners is not really a hard task and you can easily do them by yourself. However, if you installed it in a wrong way, it will probably cost you more than you bargained for in the end.

If you want to save your in-ground swimming pool for years together, you will need to perform proper maintenance cycles, and take all required steps to keep it protected during the winter season. For the same reason, you need to purchase a pool winter cover of good quality to protect your pool during winter. If you do not have a winter cover in place, you might have to spend several hours at the beginning of spring to clean the pool and get it usable.

Having a pool winter cover of good quality ensures that you begin using your pool as soon as spring begins, without much effort. The winter cover you choose for your pool will depend on the budget you can allocate to it, the climate in your place of residence, the debris in your yard, and your personal choice. Based on these factors, you can choose from a solid winter pool cover and a mesh winter pool cover.

The pool winter cover helps you by reducing the damage that harsh weather may cause to your pool. They also help to keep the water in your pool clean, by avoiding debris from getting collected in the pool.

Solid pool winter covers are used very commonly to protect pools during winter. These covers are made of a woven polyethylene scrim, and include a waterproof coating on them. They form a solid cover over the water surface. Some of these covers include double-stitched hems and other features that help to improve durability of the pool cover, for years together. However, these covers are pretty heavy and so, they are not easy to handle. This becomes a disadvantage if you need to take care of the pool by yourself. Further, rainwater and snow might collect on its surface, and you will require a pump to prevent water from collecting over the cover. But these covers are very effective in keeping water free from algae and mold, and preventing debris from falling into the pool.

You can get a pool winter cover in the form of a mesh also. These covers are porous and they allow rainwater and snow to fall into the water. But, they still prevent debris from falling in. One great advantage of using a mesh cover is that water does not collect on the cover and so you will not need a cover pump to keep the surface clean. Mesh covers are pretty lightweight that make them easy to handle.

Above ground pool winter covers are a very safe way of protecting your investment in your back yard. Some people don’t cover their pools so they get leaves and junk in the pool and other little animals can easily fall in, die, and decay in your pool.

When you look for a pool cover, make sure that you pick the right one. Without covering your pool, your pool will age and crack. Above ground pool winter covers will make your above ground pool very good at withholding water and prevents damage when the pool isn’t in use in the off season. Above ground pool winter covers are the best way of making sure that nothing happens to your pool that you paid a lot of money for.

If you cannot install one yourself, the best way of getting a pool cover is having an independent contractor specializing in pool covers or pool shock and management to come out to your house and personally fit your pool with a great cover. Don’t pay too much because it is very easy for a contractor to simply charge you more than what you want to pay. When applying above ground pool winter covers you need to make sure that the design is properly matched up and the cover is on the right way. You must ensure that the cover is not sitting upside down on the pool because that could lead to a lot of mold and damage to your above ground pool.

Above ground pool winter covers are the best way of making sure that you get to swim in the summer and spring seasons. A lot of people try to just cover the pool with saran wrap or other homemade covers, but these simply just don’t work and cause damage to your pool. When you take your above ground pool winter covers off of your pool for the first time in the spring or whenever you feel like opening, make sure to properly handle the cover and make sure it doesn’t drag on the ground. When taking off the cover, make sure all the latches are properly taken off. Use care when removing and remember to fold it properly for next year.

It’s only July, and its already time to think about an above ground pool cover? Well the thought isn’t that ridiculous. What type of pool cover should you get? Well when it comes to above ground pools, there aren’t as many choices as with ingound pools. So lets look at the different types and varieties.

There are 3 basic types when it comes to an above ground pool cover. Mesh, leaf net, and solid covers. Mesh and solid covers are very similar. They both let water through them and filter out any dirt and debris. The major difference between both of them is the fact that the mesh covers are woven tighter than the leaf net versions. The solid covers are made of solid material and do not let any dirt and debris in. These type accumulate water and snow on the top, and periodically have to be cleaned off. A good choice for these types is to have a pump on top, or have an inflatable ball made specifically for floating underneath the cover. Then water and snow runs off the top and does not accumulate so badly on the surface.

What type of above ground pool cover should you get? Well all of them do a great job in keeping most debris out. The solid covers tend to be less expensive that their mesh and leaf net sibilings. Of course you can purchase different quality levels with all above ground pool covers, but generally solid covers tend to be cheaper.

In an excerpt from www.lifeinfozone.com

“If you are looking for a pool cover that will not only help to protect your home, but your children as well, you may want to examine vinyl pool covers. Vinyl pool covers, like most other pool accessories, are designed for both above ground and in-ground pools. The cost of a swimming pool cover will all depend on the type of pool that you have and the type of cover you are looking to purchase. Where you shop may also have an impact on pool cover costs.”

Shop around for your best deal, but always make sure you speak to a qualified person that knows pools when purchasing an above ground pool cover. Safety always needs to be considered part of the equation.

A lot of us are seasoned pros when it comes to maintaining our swimming pools. It’s almost like second nature. Like riding a bicycle, or brewing your coffee in the morning. I can do that with my eyes shut. But for a lot of newbie’s or even people that have only owned their swimming pools for a couple of years it’s a struggle still every year when its time to open their swimming pools. Well read on, here are a few tips on opening your swimming pool for the upcoming season.

First thing of course is to remove the cover removing any debris and pumping off any water that has accumulated over the winter season. Make sure you clean your pool cover off and dry it before you put it away so any mold or mildew will not build up on it.

Remove all the freeze plugs and devices you have installed in protecting your swimming pool from freezing. All of these items will have to be removed before you go to your next step.

It is now time to start up your pool pump and pool filter. If you didn’t clean it when you closed the pool last year, do it now. Prime your swimming pool pump and start er-up. You will hear a lot of action in your plumbing because of the air that has been trapped in the pipes. Make sure you release any built up pressure before opening up your equipment. When running, go around and check for any leaks.

Time to clean the pool. If you had a mesh pool cover, there will be dirt and debris in the pool. Scoop out debris with a leaf net, and vacuum the rest. If you had solid cover it should be relatively clean. If not, check for a hole or improper installation of that cover.

Add necessary water to get the level to halfway up your pool skimmer openings. Then you must let your pump run for ½ a day to let the new water circulate with the old. After that is done you can check your water balance and add your swimming pool chemicals. The best thing to do is bring a water sample to your local pool professional for analysis. If you don’t know be sure to follow their procedures so you don’t damage any of your swimming pool surfaces.

Install all ladders and handrails if you have them. Please make sure you inspect your diving board before you let anyone use it. Look for any stress-cracks and if you find a single one, replace your diving board. If you have tiles around the top of your pool clean them with baking soda only. You should never use any abrasives or cleaners in your pool.

Well its time once again to think about closing your pool. It has been a good swim season for a lot of us, with hot weather and not too much rain. I don’t have a pool heater, so we close our pool shortly after Labor Day. When do you close your pool, and do you do it yourself?
