an above ground pool….We have 4 boys and need a really good one. Any suggestions? NYS law requires an alarm, and with 3 toddlers, (I have common sense, I know not to leave them alone) and I need the extra security law or no law…please help with any reccommendations!

Best answer:

Answer by Yan
you could put a gate around the pool and when it is not in use, turn on the alarm. just a simple thought

Answer by Buttsoap
If the alarms are like the one California requires they are a real pain, no shut off and a bypass allowing to go out but not in without the alarm going off and a 90db alarm.

But it sure beats the alternative. Check www.looplock, they make fencing to secure pool area and also your city building code department to find out if they recognize the fence. Here in California it is certified for day care facilities but will not replace property line fencing requirements.

Good Luck.

You’re welcome!!

Importance Of Pool Door Alarms

Owning a pool in our backyard is a good thing. It is something that we are able to utilize to work out and to cool off during the summer months when all we do is sweat. The one disadvantage is the risk that it presents to our little children who cannot swim. There have been several accidents in which a child has gotten outside and nearly drowned.

The easiest way to keep this from happening is to set up a pool door alarm. This is set up onto the back or screen door. It is designed to alert the parent after the child has opened and closed the door. The alarm will keep going off till a parent has disarmed it with the proper code.

These systems will cost close to for the entire system and around one or two sensors. You can buy more sensors for around to . Putting it up is simple when you follow the directions in the manual.

The alarm that it utilizes is peculiar and contrasting from that of the standard alarm system. This aids to make it simpler for the parent to identify the problem and understand exactly where it is coming from. The faster they know what is coming about, the sooner they will make it outside and stop their kids before anything happens.

The sensor that is on the door will be triggered when anyone goes through and is constantly on. There is no on/off switch that you are able to utilize. This keeps smarter kids from disabling it on their own. Parents have the ability to prevent triggering the alarm when they are going outdoors by utilizing a particular pass that comes with the product.

Although the pool alarm system is effective at preventing your children from going outdoors to swim we believe that it is essential to give them swimming lessons. Accidents may take place and you need your children to be prepared no matter what may occur!

How to Buy Swimming Pool Alarms

Swimming pool accessories are available at retail stores in the US and on the Internet. If you personal a going pool, regardless if you have children or not, you should consider acquiring a going pool alarm

If you want to purchase a pool alarm, you need to decide what style of alarm you want. You can use the Internet or your localised retail pool supply store to review them because you should familiarize yourself with the pool alarms that are currently accessible. You will happen gate alarms, aquatic pool alarms, and above water pool alarms.

Gate alarms are the most popular of all types of pool alarms. Although these types of pool alarms are not instaled around or in your going pool, they are still thought of as pool alarms. The reason for this is that the alarm is turned up on the gate of the pool fence. It depends on the model that you purchase but, most gate alarms will go off when person goes through the gate disregarded. Because of the way that they work, gate alarms are probably the most efficacious alarms that are accessible. If they are installed and utilized properly a child shouldn’t even make it close to your swimming pool

The problem with gate alarms is that if you don’t have a pool fence they are no good to you. Therefore you will necessitate to appear at other types of pool alarm. There is the surface alarm which is also cognized as the above water alarm. These types of alarms are projected to go off when a person comes too close to the going pool. Most of these types of alarms come with a barrier that is preset. Surface or above water alarms are cold since they will watchful you prior to a child actually making it to the water

However, the surface or the above water alarm tends to go off easily, particularly if the swimming pool area is not gated in. Regardless if an animal enters the area or the wind blows some debris past the alarm it will probably set the alarm off. If you desire a pool alarm which probably acquiredt bring forth untrue alarms, you should consider the aquatic pool alarm

The underwater pool alarm is somewhat similar to a surface alarm. As fought back to observing motion on the going pools out, the aquatic pool alarm detects motion in the internal. The result is that the pool alarm will go off if something enters the water. So, if a child falls into the swimming pool, the pool alarm will automatically go off and permit you to rescue them

Safety is every mother’s concern and I think it very well should be. If you have kids you should definitely childproof your house. Start with your table’s edges, automatic door closers, cabinet doors, drawers, and not to forget… swimming pools.

Call me obsessive compulsive but when I found out I was pregnant I went through our house with a fine-toothed comb, checking every nook and cranny for possible “child-accident-waiting-to-happen piece of furniture or appliance. My husband was looking at me funny when I went down on my knees to crawl on our floor. Hey, I wanted to see if it would be too slippery for a child. Part of the experiment was also to find out which piece of furniture needed bumper guards, or which room a baby or a crawling child would most likely go to (hint: the room with the most number of things).

I then went to our backyard and walked barefoot. Not that I will allow my child to be always walking around barefoot (consider the possibility of stumbling or deliberately wanting to be on all fours), I wanted to “test” our grass to see if newly cut grass posed a danger to a little one too. I also wanted to see if our plants are “safe” and ugly enough so as not to call the attention of a curious toddler who might want to taste the yummy-looking leaf or flower (better safe than sorry).

Then there was the swimming pool. Ours is the above-ground type. I had it that way so we could take it along if and when we move. Another benefit of an above-ground pool is that it is slightly inaccessible to a child. All I had to do is take down, and keep under lock and key, the ladder that came with our pool kit.

So what we needed and got were pool safety alarms. Yes, I wanted get two, so it’s really “pool safety alarms”. I told you I’m obsessive compulsive, but I’d like to think it’s only on the issue of safety. Naturally, my husband disagreed and said we only needed one.

We started the process by checking out the pool safety alarms available in the market. Luckily, there was quite a number of pool safety alarms listed on the internet and a lot had retailers near our area.

All we really had to do was key-in “pool safety alarms” and a long list was presented to us. I never imagined there would be a lot.

Of all the pool safety alarms we read about online, we liked the sonar alarm best. This sonar alarm acts like an invisible net on your pools surface. It has a command station that houses all the electronic components and a remote keypad so you could check on the system’s status whenever and wherever you are in the house.

Essentially, pool safety alarms have more or less the same features, but you should check out each type or brand just the same.

Incidentally, if you want to see what types of pool safety alarms are available in your area, try heading to a child safety store. There you could see the pool safety alarms up close and personal… and you have a salesclerk to explain everything to you. It sure beats having to scour even the remote corners of the internet to find out all about pool safety alarms.
