If the alarms are like the one California requires they are a real pain, no shut off and a bypass allowing to go out but not in without the alarm going off and a 90db alarm.

But it sure beats the alternative. Check www.looplock, they make fencing to secure pool area and also your city building code department to find out if they recognize the fence. Here in California it is certified for day care facilities but will not replace property line fencing requirements.
