There are numerous signs of hot tub pump failure. Malfunctions that put off the motor from turning, including frozen shaft or bearings, may result in a humming noise. A jammed impeller can do the same, as can a faulty starting capacitor. Badly worn bearings may lead to a whining noise. Leaks around the pump often point to a failure of the pump seals. You will probably observe a puddle of water below the pump when these seals go badly. In addition, our patented hot tub pump shroud vents heat from the gear compartment. This creates a cooler working environment for the motors and electronic components, causative to a longer life for your Hot Spring spa.

More about the hot tub pumps

In most hot tubs, the jet pump has to undertake double duty, powering the hot tub jets at high speed and the spa filtration cycles at low speed. To give you with a soothing massage experience and continuously filtered water, a Hot Spring spa divides the work between the high-powered Wave master jet pump and our split, low-amp, SilentFlo 5000circulation pump. The Wave master jet pump is devoted to delivering the finest massages experience by producing a powerful flow through all the jets. And with an self-governing circulation hot tub pump you can enjoy the powerful jets and soothing water features, and still be assured of clean, heated water, 24 hours a day. While all Hot Spring spas are influential, our High Performance models have even higher horsepower pumps to power additional jets and water features.

Conclusion

Hot Tub Heaters take a lot of mistreatment. From the moment a spa is turned on, hot water and sanitizing chemicals are constantly rocketing through the heater. Industry surveys show that heaters are generally the first part of a spa to fail. It’s no surprise, since most heaters are made of stainless steel, which makes them exposed to the pitting and corrosion fatigues that lead to problems ranging from heat loss to complete system failure. That’s why Thermo-Spa builds spa heaters stronger, with one of the most excellent and strongest metals known to man – Titanium. A few spa manufacturers use Titanium in their heaters, but they cut costs by making only the heating coil out of this nearly indestructible metal. Thermo-Spas heater, coil and surrounding jacket are all made of Titanium, so the entire heater is resistant to chlorine pitting and practically impervious to corrosion and cracking, which is why Thermo-Spas heaters not only last years longer, they are also backed up with a much superior warranty.

Plumbers for Repair

We hop into the bathtub only if the temperature is right and equal throughout. The heaters that come long with spa or hot tubs furnish sustained heat to provide the maximum heat to provide the benefits of hydrotherapy including stress reduction, relaxation, and pain relief for arthritis. There are two types of heaters available – electric and propane heaters. The size of these heaters varies from small ones for hot tubs to aboveground and in-ground models for swimming pools.

Propane Or Gas Heater and features

Propane is considered as the “green “energy as it helps to cut emissions and protect the environment. It is non-toxic and insoluble in water and does not leave a residue in the tub. So it is considered to be clean. Propane is an efficient and friendly fuel. Propane heaters cut emission of toxins and yields 12 percent less carbon dioxide and 60 percent less carbon monoxide. Propane heaters heat water quickly and evenly compared to electric heater or other fuels.

Built-in properties of Propane

1. Propane will not ignite when combined with air.
2. Propane gas is non-toxic and insoluble in water.
3. It is not harmful to soil or water
4. Since the cost of gas is less than electricity it lowers the day-to-day cost.

Electric hot tub heater features

If the tub is a portable one you cannot use gas heater as they always come with electrical heating units. Electric water heater is also dependable performance proven and corrosion free. They are available in compact models of 5.5 kw and 11kw. Models that are available today have longer life as the heavy-duty incoloy heating elements lasts longer. The waterways, are corrosion-free copper and bronze, this enables longer life. The electric heaters have built-in safety measure to prevent operation without water flow, a temperature to prevent overheating and a good quality thermostat. They are compact and easy to install.

Tips on buying hot tub
Electric hot tub can actually make your energy bills rocket if you do not choose your system carefully. Go for a tub with full foam closed-cell insulation. This holds the energy bills down and the heat in. Look for a model with a sealed heating element as this prevents the water from touching the actual element. The heater will last longer and work more efficiently. Hot tub circulation system to be left on continuously to keep water clean and ready to use. This will save energy too. A reputable dealer will be able to tell you how much it will cost to operate a hot tub. Toronto plumbing companies

Your swim spa cover has a important function to play in the condition of your swimming pool and it’s water. A good cover offers insulation for the hot tub. It additionally defends and shields the swim spa from the elements, serving to diminish filth accumulation on the shell, and stop foliage and debris from entering the water.

So, How do I best maintain my Hot Tub Cover?

Your portable spa cover is under steady attack by quite a few forces, including Uv from the sun, rainfall, dirt and grunge from your backyard, and ozone. This also includes the chlorine which keeps garden hot tubs and swimming spas brand new. By spending a a small amount of time every 2-3 weeks, giving the cover a wipe using light soapy water (detergent free!), it is possible to eliminate a little of the buildup which will slash the cover’s operational functioning natural life. Whilst you are washing the cover, please endeavor to focus on all the concealed cracks and crevices, together with both topmost and underside surfaces.

Once every three months, it’s important to treat your swim spa cover with a high quality vinyl protectant remedy, which will act to put a stop to cracking, fading and splitting from exposure to the sun, together with preventing water damage and keeping the vinyl pliable and elastic. Please do make certain the protectant you utilize is not one with a silicone oil foundation, that will increase sunlight wear.

Ok, When is it time for a replacement Cover?

After you’ve had your swim spa cover for a considerable time, it will eventually obviously start to reveal the warning signs of extreme wear and tear, that involve:

* Covers which can be heavier than typical
* Covers which have a roughened texture on face which faces the water
* Covers which accumulate water on top

Once your cover no longer has the capability to insulate perfectly, your portable spa running costs may possibly multiply, as the heater is incessantly fighting to keep the temperature of the water where it ought to be. If your home power payments are growing, your broken spa cover could be the issue. Even if you have not ended up at this situation so far, when your cover is portraying one of the warning symptoms above, a replacement is undoubtedly recommended.

Upon purchasing your new hot tub, you are eager to relax, soak in and enjoy your new “plaything”. However, ownership of a hot tub also entails responsibilities in order to make the most out of your hot tub experience. Give it some special care and it will give back more years of enjoyment.

Investing in hot tub filters ,for example, to keep the water clean will ensure your continued hot tub enjoyment. Keeping hot tub filters in good condition will also keep your pump and heater from wearing out prematurely, again adding years to the “home spa” that is your hot tub.

Most people I know love to soak and relax in a hot tub but they do not exactly look forward to cleaning it themselves. I would admit I never found cleaning hot tubs and hot tub filters enjoyable either. However, the short term and long term benefits of keeping your hot tub filters in good condition can all add up to more savings on your operating and maintenance costs.

Cleaning hot tub filters every two weeks is recommended. The task is relatively simple using a typical garden hose. Pressure from the water sprayed can take off dirt and debris from hot tub filters. Once the filter is clean from dirt, you can put the filter back in the system and do what you would like to do most… soak and enjoy!

It is also suggested that you keep at least two filters in storage for backup or replacement. You have the option of replacing hot tub filters twice in a year along with changing out water in your hot tub. Extra hot tub filters can also serve as backup while the filter in use is being rinsed and cleaned. This ensures continued enjoyment of your hot tub even while cleaning your filter.

I would not recommend using aggressive chemicals to clean hot tub filters. These can damage your filter and result to more attrition of solid particles, adding more dirt and debris to your hot tub system instead of cleaning it. In case you really want to use cleaning chemicals, consult with a pool professional to make sure that the cleaning chemical you are buying will do more good than harm to hot tub filters.

Improper hot tub maintenance or lack of it can cost you even more. Efficiency reduction of your filtration system will cause overwork of your pump and other mechanical enhancements in your tub. Your pump will wear down at a quicker pace and your utility cost will unnecessarily rise.

It is recommended that you consult with your local pool dealer or a pool professional for advice. Your hot tub needs proper attention to ensure utmost enjoyment. Remember, your hot tub is an investment. Along with this comes the responsibility to protect your investment from damage and premature wear and tear. Following good maintenance practices will help you keep away from more damage and unnecessary costs. All it takes is a little diligence.

With all these in mind, you are ready and equipped with relevant knowledge on hot tub maintenance for maximum soaking pleasure.

The weather conditions cannot be predicted by any of us. It changes a lot and the only thing we can do is to adapt to those things. They depend on the things to get those adaptations. People live in this world for enjoyment and not for struggling. The best way to get these is by having the luxuries of the world. There is nothing like having a hot bath after a stressful days work. The comfort one gets from it cannot be expressed in words.
So as the need for the hot bath increases many people buy hot tubs. Whenever something is sold in the market in a high quantity, the accessories too sell in high quantity. The important accessory needed for the proper working of the tub is the hot tub filters. Many ask why is that hot tub filters considered to be so important in the working of hot tubs. The reason is that the quality of the water in the hot tub is determined and processed only by the hot tub filters.

How does hot tub filter work?

The working of the hot tub filters is the simplest in the world of science as any one get how it works. The saying that there won’t be any dirt in running water is true in the working of hoot tub filters. These things work by creating a force of current in the tub. Due to this instead of water being stagnant revolves round the tub. In addition to this, there will be filter layers in the filter which will act as ordinary sieve. The only thing is that these things are small in size. So the incoming will be processed by these filters and the outlet will be dust free. There can be also chemical adder whose purpose is to add disinfectant and flavors to the water. These things have timer circuits which will do these in a timely fashion. There are even better models, but these things are preferred by many.

There are many specifications that these filters must have in them. One amongst it is that they are always in contact with heated element so they have to be temperature resistive. Another thing is that they have more of fluid moving through them, therefore erosion should not be there plus wear and tear must be avoided. The most important thing of all is that these hot tub filters must have reliability and must be available for a cheap price.

Whether you possess a home spa or a commercial hot tub, it is important to have sparkling the water. Its a place where somebody can find relief from headaches and joint pains and stress as a home hot tub is where you family can spend a lot of time.. Hot tub water that is dirty can pose a major health problem, so we need to talk about spa cleaners.

If you own a spa, or a lodge/resort/inn that has a spa, you have to take care that the hot tub water with spa cleaners to ensure that the water is sparkling or in most drastic cases, lawsuits, penalties, termination of licenses and permits not to mention extra health inspections by negligence of a hot tub can happen. Just a few basic rules is all you need to follow to keep the hot tub water clean.

A ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Be pro active and do not wait for the water to get dirty. You can install additional filters and spa cover (when not in use), to make certain that grime and debris doesn’t find their way into the hot tub water.

Regular maintenance on your filter is crucial.
Cleaning the filter regularly is imperative if you want the spa water condition to be of high standards. Hot tub cleaning of the filter on a normal basis is crucial to the cleanliness of the water. Use chemicals that can clean filters without damaging them, and right chemicals to wash those filters so they do not get damaged. Hard water can cause tough-to-get rid of deposits of minerals on the filters. Use filter spa cleaners that are recommended by the manufacture to get rid of those deposits. Change filters frequently – according to a most estimates, filters in a commercial hot tubs maintain a duration of 10 months before needing to be cleaned or changed.

PH balance is imperative to proper maintenance
Normally water is suppose to be neutral and at a pH of around 7, but environmental factors such as pollution, locality water source can change the acidity/alkalinity. Discouraging growth of algae, your hot tub must possess a pH balance between 7.2 to 7.6. Using chemicals to preserve this is the most ordinary way. If the pH/alkalinity are maintained at the correct levels, you can also use less sanitizing chemicals to maintain clarity.

Rinse out all chemicals thoroughly after cleaning of the filter.
Water with high concentrations of chemicals that are left after the cleaning operation can pose a health danger. So rinse those chemicals out well before somebody uses the spa again. Do this by soaking them in a couple buckets of fresh water with flushing water through them a few times with a garden hose.

Just a few items to consider when using spa cleaners to maintain your hot tub.

Portable hot tubs are a great way to enjoy the relaxing benefits of a regular sized hot tub at a fraction of the cost. Portable meaning that it can be moved easily from one location to the other. There are inflatable and non-inflatable hot tubs, and this is what we will talk about today.

Inflatable portable hot tubs are great way to enjoy a relaxing end of the day. They are completely self-contained and usually plug in to a standard 115v outlet. They also are great for vacation getaways because they can be deflated and packed up in a relatively small space to carry. Generally these types of inflatable hot tubs run anywhere between $700-$1500 which is a reasonable cost for a hot tub.

What is cheap? In an excerpt from HotTubSaleOnline they state,

“Eight hundred dollars may not sound cheap to you, but as it relates to portable hot tubs, it is rather inexpensive and considered by a lot of people to be a good price. These cheap soft portable hot tubs are made from a plastic, soft material that is inflated and then filled with water. The material is durable and cannot be easily punctured during use. Also included with the portable hot tub are a heater and a kit of chemicals to maintain the pH balance in the water. In general, a cover for the portable hot tub is included as well.”

Non-inflatable portable hot tubs cannot be carried to your favorite vacation spot, but they are also completely self-contained and usually plug into the same 115v outlet as your inflatables. These type of hot tubs are generally larger than the inflatables and can hold up to 6-8 people generally as apposed to 1-2 as with the inflatable types. These can be a great choice for people that do not have the normal space or hook up availability. Generally these types run around $2000-$4000 in purchase costs.

Another excerpt from HotTubSaleOnline about these types of portable hot tubs

“On the other hand, the average price for a portable hot tub that is brand new is around two thousand dollars and have a variety of different options. Two thousand dollars may sound like a lot of money, however it is nothing compared to the price range of ten to twenty thousand dollars that some of the deluxe models can cost today. These cheap portable hot tubs also come with all of the materials needed to get started and are usually constructed of a more solid material such as a hard plastic.”

With so many choices in portable hot tubs, you can enjoy the benefits today at a reasonable price that you could not do 10 years ago.

Today everyone, including myself are finding ways to save money. A lot of us are holding on to our cars a little longer, making huge efforts to stretch our dollars further. Reading the news about the economy, people’s savings are up a lot from a year ago, supporting the theory that everyone is finding ways maximize their savings and minimize their spend. When it comes to your hot tub, we are seeing an increase in the purchase of hot tub spa parts.

Here is an article from “Hotgubsadvice.com” with regards to finding hot tub spa parts on the internet.

“There are many online retailers that sell different types of repair items and many of these will have hot tub replacement parts available at a practical price. Some of these internet websites get their repair items from physical locations that are making space for new products while other online stores carry the products of smaller manufacturers only. Purchasing hot tub replacement parts from online websites allows you to compare different prices and the items that you have chosen are shipped directly to your house. You may choose to order an entire set of parts from one of these websites to have the perfect type of hot tub parts for your hot tub.”

I think it is an important point when ordering online with regards to hot tub spa parts is to purchase from a reputable online retailer that can guide you through the parts selection, and help you with any other questions or problems you might have. You can find great deals out on the internet and most being less expensive than a brick and mortar retailer, but just going for the cheapest price without any support or service isn’t a wise move in my opinion. The parts you buy are only as good as the support you will get from the retailer you purchased them from.

Another insert from Hottubsadvice.com also states,

“It is important to be careful when ordering hot tub replacement parts from the internet because some websites will take your money without shipping your products or offering you a refund. Make sure that the company is a reputable one by reviewing consumer websites for any negative information about the company or any issues with service. Because there are a number of websites available on the internet that deal with consumer reviews, chances are that any company with a history of customer issues will be listed on a website with a negative review. Purchasing hot tub replacement parts at a great price will allow you to improve your hot tub without costing you much cash.”

The summary here when purchasing hot tub spa parts, is to remember that you can save lots of money purchasing replacement parts for your spa online, but make sure that you find a reputable internet retailer that can back you up when a problem or question arises.

We purchase a spa 2 years ago. It has been one of the most enjoyable things we have gotten for some rest and relaxation in a long time. I enjoy the rush of the water through the spa jets and it helps my aches and pains of being a automobile mechanic the first 20 years of my professional career. And since then we have also purchased spa supplies to accessorize our hot tub.

What do I mean accessorize? Well there are tons of items available out there to make your spa more comfortable and enjoyable. We have a detached spa from our inground pool. The seats are not molded like a portable spa would. So basically your are sitting on concrete. What we have purchased to make our seating more comfortable are inflatable spa cushions. Along with those we got spa pillows. These is one of the spa supplies I enjoy the most and the pillows cushion your head in case you want to lean back. Let me tell you, if it wasn’t for the hot temperatures we run our spa at, I would be in there much longer.

What we have also added that is real cool is a spa bar. It has a table and three stools. The table butts up right against the outer wall of the spa, and is great for when you entertain. Your guests can sit up right beside the people in the spa. It is a very cool item. We also keep our cold drinks on top of the table when we are in enjoying the spa. Drinks are served….lol

The latest addition to our spa supplies arena is spa steps. This makes it great for smaller kids, or people that have a difficult time stepping to get in and out. Ours are made of molded plastic and the steps are textured to make them non-slippery. I’m more the kind of person that just jumps in like the Dukes of Hazzard boys did in the television show from back in the 70′s when they jumped in and out of shier car. Boy I just dated myself.. My wife really enjoys them as it helps here greatly getting in and out.

Oh I forgot one other thing that is a great addition to our spa supplies. Its a battery operated spa vacuum. This makes it so easy to spot clean the spa. We have a pressure side automatic cleaner for the pool, and also a manual vacuum and hose that you hook up to the telescopic pole. You can’t use the automatic pool cleaner for the spa, and the manual vacuum you can use, but it is very cumbersome. The battery powered pool cleaner makes it real easy to just do a quick clean when needed, and since it is self-contained cleaning up is quick. I love this accessory too.

There are many more spa supplies available, but these are items we have, and they make our spa experiences much more enjoyable. If you have a spa, I encourage you to look into these kinds of items and enjoy your spa like we do.
