Taking good care of your swimming pool, whether in-ground or above ground, is a necessity in order to get the most out of it. You may have to spend a significant amount to purchase important items but these give back more value for your money.

The benefits far exceed the cost requirements. Most smart homeowners recognize this fact while some still perceive these as unnecessary expenses.

One of the things sometimes overlooked or underrated is the importance of <a href="http://www.1800pools.com/WS500G_Rectangle_Green_Solid_Safety_Covers_12_X_20_12_yr.html"rel="nofollow" >swimming pool covers. When swimming season is over, covering your pool is important as it serves two functions. From a cost standpoint, <a href="http://www.1800pools.com/WS500G_Rectangle_Green_Solid_Safety_Covers_12_X_20_12_yr.html"rel="nofollow" >swimming pool covers cut down maintenance expenses.

Aside from cost savings, <a href="http://www.1800pools.com/WS500G_Rectangle_Green_Solid_Safety_Covers_12_X_20_12_yr.html"rel="nofollow" >swimming pool covers provide safety by preventing accidents. Varying models offer different functions.
Winter swimming pool covers shield pools from the cold winter temperature and at the same time prevents accumulation of dirt, leaves, fallen branches, and debris in your pool.

Covering pools during winter blocks sunlight and can prevent growth of algae. With winter <a href="http://www.1800pools.com/WS500G_Rectangle_Green_Solid_Safety_Covers_12_X_20_12_yr.html"rel="nofollow" >swimming pool covers, you should be ready for spring with less cost and maintenance needs. Installation for in-ground and above ground pools may vary but they serve the same purpose.

Solar <a href="http://www.1800pools.com/WS500G_Rectangle_Green_Solid_Safety_Covers_12_X_20_12_yr.html"rel="nofollow" >swimming pool covers can save you money by reducing energy required to heat water. A solar cover can heat water by as much as ten degrees Fahrenheit without the energy cost. This is because water is heated by transferring heat from the sun. This heat can be absorbed and stored even at night.

Heat loss is inhibited with solar <a href="http://www.1800pools.com/WS500G_Rectangle_Green_Solid_Safety_Covers_12_X_20_12_yr.html"rel="nofollow" >swimming pool covers while at the same time reducing chemical and water evaporation by an estimated sixty to seventy percent. You can think about the savings each month on gallons of water that you could potentially lose without <a href="http://www.1800pools.com/WS500G_Rectangle_Green_Solid_Safety_Covers_12_X_20_12_yr.html"rel="nofollow" >swimming pool covers.

Another type of covering for pools is a leaf net. These are used with winter and solar covers specifically designed to catch dirt and debris. Leaves, twigs and branches falling can easily be removed with the use of nets. A leaf net also protects you winter and solar covers, further extending their service life span.

A safety cover serves as a safety precaution especially for homeowners with children. It can be expensive but the value it provides cannot be equated with any price.

Materials are designed to support load equivalent to the weight of a child or animal that may walk on the cover. You have a choice between a solid and mesh covering. These are held in place using anchors. These anchors are designed to support the material covering the entire pool area.

Shapes and sizes vary to fit varying shapes of pools. Repair kits are also available so that holes are easily patched. In some cases, installation of anchors may need professional help. Licensed pool contractors do this for a living. In other cases, a skilled homeowner can install anchors without a pool professional.

There are many ways of cost savings that <a href="http://www.1800pools.com/WS500G_Rectangle_Green_Solid_Safety_Covers_12_X_20_12_yr.html"rel="nofollow" >swimming pool covers can provide. More than the cost savings, <a href="http://www.1800pools.com/WS500G_Rectangle_Green_Solid_Safety_Covers_12_X_20_12_yr.html"rel="nofollow" >swimming pool covers also give homeowners peace of mind.

Building a swimming pool in your own backyard may seem to get more complicated when it comes to choosing pool accessories. More often than not your local pool salesman will offer so many different products that get you more confused with your choices. It is because salesmen have their own sales agenda which may not be in line with your goal of getting the best pool accessories for your swimming pool at home.

When shopping for pool accessories, try to think about buying furniture and appliances for the house. Everything will revolve around a working budget. This could be your budget for all pool accessories and maintenance as well. It can be quite challenging for a pool owner to mix budget, function and form.

Setting priorities when shopping for pool accessories is important. One must determine what the necessary items are and what the decorative items are.

Pool accessories that maintain and ensure pool safety are necessities. These are equipment or components that a pool owner should have for better quality swimming time and a longer swimming pool lifespan.

A filter system and pump can keep your swimming pool from dirt and debris making them essential items for pool owners. Supplementing the pool filter and pump would be other pool cleaners such as pool vacuum cleaners and skimmers. For particles that a pump and filter cannot catch due to size and weight, a pool vacuum and skimmer can.

Pool vacuum cleans dirt and debris on pool floors while skimmers catch particles such as leaves, bugs and insects on the pool water surface.
Heaters are also necessary items for the pool in order to maintain warm and comfortable water temperature even in colder weather.

Adding a heater to your swimming pool can extend your swimming season to almost the whole year round. Pool owners have a choice among gas, electric and solar powered pool heaters.

Chlorinators keep pool water healthy and free from contaminants. There are many variants of chlorinators in the market that serve the purpose of primarily sanitizing pool water.

A pool cover is another essential item for a pool owner. It slows down heat loss to help save energy consumption of a pool heater. The pool cover can protect your swimming pool from other elements like dust, debris, ice, bugs and leaves.

Pool ladders are installed to provide safe access to pool users climbing up and down the swimming pool. There are different types of pool ladders that suit different needs and preferences.

Other pool accessories that may not be necessary for pool operation and maintenance are for aesthetic or decorative purposes. Furniture can enhance the overall look of your pool area. Lounge chairs and tables create that resort feel and it can give you an outdoor living area.

Pool floats are probably the most popular of decorative pool accessories. In some cases, floats can even substitute lounge chairs to a certain extent. The choices are without limits as pool floats come in different shapes and sizes.

Slides, toys and diving boards are also available for more hours of swimming fun and enjoyment.

When shopping for pool accessories, keep track of your budget and your priority items. Essential or “must-have” items should come first and if budget permits, then you may start shopping for your decorative pool accessories.

Swimming pools can provide tons of backyard hours of fun and relaxation. Many people have, (let me rephrase that) TONS of above ground style pools. You don’t have to have an inground pool to enjoy the benefits. And like there siblings, the inground, you have to cover them up in the winter or off season. This post is all about above ground swimming pool covers.

Depending on your budget and needs will determine the best type of above ground swimming pool covers that will fit you. The basic types of pool covers are solid and mesh. Within these two are a host of different materials and fabrics. Most of your solid pool covers are made out of vinyl. They are a great balance between pliability and durability. These types of above ground swimming pool covers tend to be less expensive than your mesh type. They can last just as long as mesh though, they are just easier and cheaper to manufacture.

Mesh type above ground swimming pool covers are designed to let the rainwater fall through them. This is created so you don’t have to pump off the water. They are commonly made out of vinyl, but their design is woven, like a fabric.. The drawback to this design is that dirt and debris can fall through them, and into your pool. So when you open up your pool in the spring time, more cleaning is required, than if you used a solid type pool cover. Personal choice for me, is go with the solid type cover, even though you have to pump off the water through out the winter season. What attracts me is the fact that there is less clean up of the pool when it is time to open again.

Here is what SOQISLIMMINGSPA.COM has to say and 5 tips on purchasing above ground swimming pool covers,

“1. Find the pool cover is clever as well as robust. The lid contingency not usually keep your pool clean, it contingency be security, though additionally for humans as well as animals. It is written to forestall drowning as well as mud as well as waste in to the pool.

2. Make certain the rug of the pool complies with state as well as internal requirements. Some areas need the certain distance as well as abyss of the pool when not in use. There have been certain mandate to be met, covered. Check with internal authorities to safeguard which their pool to qualify.

3. Make certain the organisation has comparison the great manufacturer’s warranty. In general, coverage of the pool should be the pledge of some-more than 2 years. Definitely the full 2 year guaranty for all defects as well as to the singular warranty. They only wish the pool which is protected as well as arguable with the full guaranty for the prolonged time.

Swimming pool automatic covers have become more popular on new swimming pool installations in recent years. And why not..Like myself, I want to become as lazy as I can around the swimming pool when it comes to maintaining it or taking a pool cover on and off. Like the most of us, I work hard and on my down time I like to relax.. hence the word I use a lot when talking about swimming pools (lazy).

The basic design of swimming pool automatic covers are a drum that the cover wraps around, a set of reel, ropes, pulleys and a drive mechanism..(motor). If placed in with a new pool installation, they can sit underneath the pool deck on the end that they are stored. This makes for a nice clean look, and when covering your pool, the cover seems to come out from underneath. Swimming pool automatic covers are also available for installation if you already have a pool. these sit on top of the pool deck on the end that they are stored, and provide the exact same function as the built-in units.

Swimming pool automatic covers are operated by basically two types of motor assemblies. Electric gear driven and Hydraulic fluid driven. The differences being,

Electric gear driven swimming pool automatic covers operate via an electric motor and it is place at the operating end where the drive mechanisms are. The gear motor turns in the same direction that the cover is moving. Direction change for open and closing it is accomplished with either polarity change in the electricity or it is accomplished with a reverse gear cog. Torque limiting devices are installed so as to limit stress as the cover nears the end of its travel. And stop sensors are fitted at each end. The electric motor(s) are completely submersible, so they will provide you years of trouble-free service.

Hydraulically actuated swimming pool automatic covers use hydraulic pressure to open and close the unit. The pump motor is usually placed at the equipment pad and lines are ran from there to the drive end of the mechanism. These systems also use torque limiting and stop sensor system to control operations, just like their electric cousins. These types of systems can usually be packaged in a tighter area because of the motor being able to be placed away from the main cover unit.

Swimming pool automatic covers are part of my theory of being able to enjoy “lazy day summers” Enjoy the rest of your season as there are still many warm days left.

Hi Gang,

We moved into our new house this year and along with the house itself, we had an inground pool installed at the same time. Along with the pool came a host of maintenance products that helped us take care of the pool. Automatic pool cleaner, swimming pool hand skimmer and pool vacuum, floats and rope to section off the shallow end from the deep end.. things like that. But what we didn’t get was any type of pool covers. And it is time to start thinking about that for me, because we have an inground pool, and I will have t install a custom cover.

There are a few choices of pool covers for our particular application. We are going to go with a inground solid safety cover, because of the fact that it is an inground pool, and we have TONS of trees around our house. I just cant wait for fall to clean up those leave.. (not really I’m being sarcastic here). Since it is going to be a custom cover I need to start thinking about his now, so I can get someone out to measure my pool so it can be made. For us it has been such a late summer with all the bad weather we got, I don’t even want to think about covering our pool yet. Oh well….

Solid pool covers are suppose to be so strong, that some manufactures state you can walk an elephant across it. I saw that advertisement years ago, and remember it well. You wouldn’t catch me even walking myself across a cover. My parents long ago had a pool and had purchased a mesh type safety pool cover. I remember them letting the dogs out to go to the bathroom and they would walk across the pool cover, sink down and get a drink of water. It was a funny sight and I remember it from time to time.

I’m going to try to hold out this year as long as I can before I close the pool, because of the crappy weather up here in the northeast. I’m going to call to get the cover measured and scheduled to install this week, but I will wait until after Labor Day hopefully, to cover up with a pool covers. What are all of you doing this year? Will you hold out as long as you can to close your pool?

It’s only July, and its already time to think about an above ground pool cover? Well the thought isn’t that ridiculous. What type of pool cover should you get? Well when it comes to above ground pools, there aren’t as many choices as with ingound pools. So lets look at the different types and varieties.

There are 3 basic types when it comes to an above ground pool cover. Mesh, leaf net, and solid covers. Mesh and solid covers are very similar. They both let water through them and filter out any dirt and debris. The major difference between both of them is the fact that the mesh covers are woven tighter than the leaf net versions. The solid covers are made of solid material and do not let any dirt and debris in. These type accumulate water and snow on the top, and periodically have to be cleaned off. A good choice for these types is to have a pump on top, or have an inflatable ball made specifically for floating underneath the cover. Then water and snow runs off the top and does not accumulate so badly on the surface.

What type of above ground pool cover should you get? Well all of them do a great job in keeping most debris out. The solid covers tend to be less expensive that their mesh and leaf net sibilings. Of course you can purchase different quality levels with all above ground pool covers, but generally solid covers tend to be cheaper.

In an excerpt from www.lifeinfozone.com

“If you are looking for a pool cover that will not only help to protect your home, but your children as well, you may want to examine vinyl pool covers. Vinyl pool covers, like most other pool accessories, are designed for both above ground and in-ground pools. The cost of a swimming pool cover will all depend on the type of pool that you have and the type of cover you are looking to purchase. Where you shop may also have an impact on pool cover costs.”

Shop around for your best deal, but always make sure you speak to a qualified person that knows pools when purchasing an above ground pool cover. Safety always needs to be considered part of the equation.
