Patio Umbrellas – A Summer Necessity
The heat is definitely on and unless you want to dry up like a wrinkly prune or suddenly collapse and suffer from heatstroke, get yourself one of those patio umbrellas to provide you with some shade as you tinker in your garden or as you lounge by your home’s poolside.
Now, not all patio umbrellas are created equal. Some have poles that are made of wood, others made of metal or aluminum. The canopy also comes in a variety of fabrics, color and diameter.

Patio Heater Covers
Its almost that time of year where we all close up outside and put away all of our outdoor furniture and accessories. Most people though, as I keep my outdoor stuff out until the middle of winter. Call me weird… But what I would like to talk about today is patio covers, specifically patio heater covers.
Many people do not even bother with covering up their outdoor furniture. Lots of times they will just stack all the pieces up outside at one corner of the patio, or will cover each individually. When I finally get around to closing everything up, I take all my outdoor furniture and store it in the shed. but I leave the heaters out and cover them up with patio heater covers. Call me weird again.

A Portable Patio Heater Comes in a Variety of Types
Hey Gang..
Its almost the middle of November and its still 60 degrees outside during the day.. Whats up with that? I do like the warm better than the cold, but with the swimming pool closed now.. and it being rather warm out.. its just too warm to use a portable patio heater.
There are many variety of portable patio heaters out there.. Natural and Propane.. Electric and my favorite.. The old fashion wood fire pits. I just love the ambiance of wood fire along with the smell of the wood being used. Just call me old fashion… They might not be the easiest and the lazy way (something I am known for) to enjoy the colder days and nights outdoors, but the definitely the most romantic.

It was short and sweet, and we took full advantage of it by spending every waking minute we could in our pool. lol… Now it is getting cooler out with fall time here and we are almost done with Sept and Holloween month is almost upon us. Now is the time of year that we enjoy sitting outside on our patio swings.

Wooden Outdoor Furniture – Bamboo or Wicker?
Its Friday once more, and I am going to take the afternoon off after I get a few tasks done at the office. It’s really nice out in NJ today, and I am a huge car fanatic, and our local race track, (Raceway Park) has their semi-annual swap meet and car show. I like going on the first day, because it isn’t to crowded and parking is much easier.. Anywho, lets get to business and talk about wooden outdoor furniture.

Gas Patio Heaters… Are You Ready For The Cooler Weather?
Hey Gang.. Its getting cooler.. bummer huh? We are going to hold out on closing our pool as late as possible this year as the summer hasn’t been ideal this year. The beginning of the season was cooler than normal, and we had more share of rain in the beginning then hoped for. But we had a great July and August. So not its September and I am waiting until the leaves start falling this year to close the pool. I still want to enjoy our outdoor living as long as I can.. And now it’s time to think about gas patio heaters.

What To Look For in a Stainless Steel Patio Heater
Days are starting to get colder as we approach the end of summer. We for one are still enjoying our pool as much and will do so as long as possible this year considering the weather we had early on in the season. Luckily our pool faces the south so we get as much sun as possible, so it does heat up quite a bit with a couple of days of good sunshine. We do have a pool heater, and we will probably be using it this month though.. We will see how long the warmer weather holds out. But when pool season is officially closed for the year, we will still be enjoying the outdoor living we love. I just purchased a stainless steel patio heater and we tend to use it well into the end of November.

Some Great Ideas in Flooring & Deck Alternatives
Are you thinking on what to do with your deck outside? Its time to paint once again as every couple of years, the sun fades the top of your deck. It’s something you have done before, and can probably get it painted and done in as a weekend project. Ever think there might be something different you can do, instead of the usual deck painting? Here are some great ideas in flooring & deck alternatives.

A Fire Pit is an Inexpensive Way to Extend Your Outdoor Season….
A fire pit is another way to enjoy your outdoor leisure time on the cooler days of fall. They are great because they are portable, less expensive than gas or electric fireplaces or heaters, and you get the added benefit of the smell a wood fireplace.. We have a built-in gas fireplace outside our house, and also have a fire pit table on the patio.. I really like the convenience of the gas, but once and awhile I LOVE the smell of the burning wood.
