  3. Top o’ the Summer to You,

First off, great blog – I love the post about working a fitness routine into your pool time. What a great idea! Who doesn’t love having a great workout while having fun in the sun? And, kudos to you on the 5,000+ twitter followers. That definitely makes you a twixpert. I spend a lot of time at my boyfriend’s family’s pool and sent his dad your site since he is always looking for new tips and advice on pool care. However, the main reason I am writing is in hopes you can lend me a bit of your “pool prowess” on a little project I am doing with HTH (I am sure you are familiar, if not checkout hthpools.com).

They actually launched a video on Memorial Day to get people is the pool spirit, which you can check out at thepoolsopen.com. Now, we’re trying to get a second video going for the July 4th weekend, which they’re shooting in LA next week. Here’s a quick synopsis:

“Essentially, the video takes place in a backyard where a couple is giving their newborn his first dip in their in-ground pool, after a few splashes the baby takes off like a mini Michael Phelps… just a fun, entertaining and slightly comical way to reach out to pool owners.”

We are looking for thoughts and comments on ways to improve the video for the avid pool audience. The videos (another coming in August) will be distributed via a website and our 20,000 person email list. Anything you could offer us would be greatly appreciated and would help us to make this fun and successful! Please let me know if you have any questions – otherwise we look forward to your feedback…

Shooting starts at 12pm on Monday so anything you can send before then that I can pass onto the director would be ideal… Have a great weekend!

    Thanks,
    Ashley Sammartino

  4. Dear 1800 Pools Blog Staff,

Good day! I am Kristen Swope, a wife and a mother, as well as a freelance writer for Balsam who specializes on the subject of swimming pools and just about anything that has to do with them. I came across your site and was inspired to write to you in the hopes that you can consider me to contribute to your site in the capacity of a guest blogger.

You have a great archive of blog posts swimming pools and equipment, which I find very helpful since I also do a lot of swimming myself. I particularly liked the one about Swimming Pool Maintenance tips, which I find quite useful because I have a small daughter who simply loves our pool at home!

That post inspired me to write an article about the five best swimming gear and equipment for toddlers, based on my personal experience and on research I have done.

If you are interested in perusing the article I wrote I would be more than glad to send you a copy. Do let me know what you think of it.

Again, congratulations on your wonderful site and I wish you more power.
    Kristen.

  5. I had a pool service operating my pool pump and cleaning my pool. Once I let them go my pool was not operating the same way. I be this ass went back in my yard and changed all the settings.

I noticed that my pool vac does not operate now. I pulled the hose from the skimmer and there is no suction any longer. How do I get it to start sucking in water again?

    Help…

    Erick
