Backyard Pool Waterfalls
Backyard pool waterfalls are becoming a popular trend these days and why wouldn’t they. The soothing water relaxes you. They are very nice to look at with the moving water cascading down or over rocks. And now with a lot of units being self contained, it is so easy and inexpensive to set one up.
Stand alone backyard pool waterfalls are self maintained, and draw less power than the bigger fountains that run off of your pool pump. They are also easier to integrate into already existing landscapes. Self contained waterfalls can offer more sculptural designs that the bigger rock types. And if you change your mind later about placement, its no problem to move it.
There are 2 types of stand alone backyard pool waterfalls. One is completely self contained and houses the water in the base. It is pumped up through, cascades down and recirculates over and over again. The other type houses a basin that you put in the ground directly below. Water is pumped up the same way as the other type. The advantage of the underground basin type is that it looks like it is more integrated into your yard. Dis-advantages would be it take up more room, installation takes longer, and if you want to change your backyard design, it isn’t as easy as the other type.
Some of the most popular styles of backyard pool waterfalls are,
1. Resin are generally the least expensive and the most lightweight of the bunch and are the most portable
2. Jar type waterfalls are usually made of stone or pottery, and are the next step up in size and price
3. Stone waterfalls are designed to look like large stones or can be designed with integrate details. The mobility of these types are less than the previous two because of their size and weight.
4. The cream-of-the-crop are made out of decorative brass. These are sculpted and can be very ornate in design. These are beautiful and are a work of art in their own right.
Self-contained backyard pool waterfalls can be beautiful part of your backyard landscape. They can be set-up easily, offer soothing sounds, and bring you years of relaxing enjoyment. All of us need to take a portion or our day to relax and reboot our bodies and souls.
